Splash. - by Jennifer Decker

The words dripping from your mouth
fray the threads of my judgement
as your eyes
steal my life.
"Every full moon has a name", you say
like spun sugar in my head.
Then you splash through my soul
as if it were a puddle.
Leaving it unclear.
And you are suddenly distant-
a star,cold and beautiful
impossible for me to reach.
Is it better there in that place where the moon
-full of names-
keeps you numb?
Leaves you blind
to the pain you make and the love I give?
As my soul clears.
for you to splash once more.
