308 to Gt Yarmouth

And so I'm leaving again
Waiting for the 308 again
Just passed events, flowing like a river in flood
Remembering the faces of friends
We've been through so much
Raced each other over the peaks
Supported each other through the valleys
Been one, a voice in unison around the flames

Handing over my luggage
Handing back my ticket to thoughtless joy
Settle in my seat
A cocoon of memories obliterates all else
Tired yet the mind races
Young yet old, 20 but have lived the life of two
Can I let them go, turn my back
Complete my half hearted new life

Walking home, gives time to adjust
Throwing the switch to my other life
Fuse must be blown, still seeing them
The scent of the sea lurking in the air
Natures smelling salts bringing me back
As I open the door, the weekends memories are put in place
Another chapter of this novel titled life

I will complete my new life
I know that I will never let go, turn my back
And I will once again wait for the 308.
