Maelstrom

jagged the colours clash
and assail his dreams
captivated in the cruelty
of never-never nightmare

a face soft and smily
is wiped, replaced in violence
by a swirl of ice-frowns
and cold-dark-daggers

cotton wool clouds forever torn
by dirty white lightening forks
and the quiet lonely chambers
sundered to the thunderous cacophony

what price peaceful r.e.m.
already sold while waking
rekindled now and twisted
in circling vulpine maelstrom
