Cheylesmore part 1

Considerations of a life of strange
in a suburb of normality and dull
in a synchonised life of monochrome
and a language of middle-class bull
bodies on the park walked by the dog
children duck feeding and duckling cute
pushchairs pulled through grass cut short
grey faces watch wearing corporate suit
old wrinkled smiles as the tots race by
old wrinkled moans of today youth
babies suck and blow on rubber bubbles
mothers explanations of imminent tooth
teens play their games of war and love
hand hold or raised as weapon fist
drugs kill the souls of the slaves held
and lust for the teens only pissed
cross the road to the pelicans tune
to shops shoddy and locally dealt
hands of desperate merchandising
as of creamed ice started to melt
entering emporium of goods un-needed
frames to pictures never hang here
cross again to the pub of strife
to people not there for the beer
broken glass to the animals sprayed
as territorial mindless recognise mark
to the garden where drunks gather slow
shrubs planted in a miniature park
comment ended there in shinesun
as authored settled worked tabled
in glass half full half empty
and story half hearted un-fabled
