Welcome to the

The Peterfiles have been written by pete and matt over the last couple of years and below is the latest from Pete. He actually wrote this one in MS Word, and even with a spell checker managed his usual trademark massacre of the English language .... enjoy ....

Hello to you whatever you might be doing. Be it skiving off for five min at work, waiting to hear back from that elusive job, on probation or just surfing around… Welcome!

Sorry I'm late peeps (My life seems as if I'm constantly running after the bus called 'organised life' as it pulls from the bus stop). I know, I know … been ages hasn't it! What a time I've had. J Be it moving into a new place, getting a new job, getting a new mountain bike, visiting family and friends. No one of the previous things comes anywhere near in comparison to the main thing that has been growing in my life. (No I haven't brought a knob extending pump tool) I, Peter Kane (A.K.A. Mr Irresponsible, Mr. Anything for a Laugh) is in preparation for settling down. Elaine (My girlfriend), her daughter (Sam & I, we get on ok, due I think to us having the same mentality) and I are getting a house together. We have all been doing cool stuff. (Dare I say it 'family' type stuff) Days out etc, Warwick Castle being by far the best yet. Running around with Sam on my shoulders, messing around, fire eaters (nice to see some one else risking life and limb with fire instead of me!). We even went out for Sunday Dinner last weekend which was very cool, especially with the breaking of sheets of ice over each others heads and firing sugar at one another (no pun intended cool… breaking ice…. Sorry), thanx Sam!

Anyway… we are all looking for a place in Cheylesmore that we can put our stamp on, be together and have fun in.

Down to business - Reviews
Well now, I have been diligently researching all things that r new… Music, Books, Films, Games and much, much more.

Music

Air - Talkie Walkie
Hmmm listening to it now for the first time (See how live this stuff is)…First impressions; A lot better than 1000mhz legends but once again they have not managed to climb as high as there current personal best that is Moon Safari. The main high point of this album is the amount of quirky tit bits, for example cute whistling or bizarre noises in unexpected places. So I'm going to give a sorta generous 7/10 for this offering and we mustn't forget to deduct a point for them being French. So an average 6/10 for the froggie duet.

Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand.
It's pretentious shit. He tries to do this David Bowie thing with his voice for to much of the time. He's a smidgen on the arrogant side with his lyrics as well. As far as I'm concerned you can keep the fucking t-shirt. Now that was a bit harsh, ok musically its cool its got a heavy indie foundation with a bit of early punk thrown in with retro 80's pop reverberating off its walls … gonna have to listen to this a few more times before I chain the lead weights of commitment to the skinny ankles of judgement and toss it in the big pond.

Now time for something a bit different… checkout your horoscope bellow

I swear they are all true well except in my case coz as we all know I'm fucking perfect

The Piss take Starsigns Go here, mark I will send you the files later after I have reduced them in size.

I have also been given the most addictive game ever (Fucking Simon [no that's not the game], how am I going to get my work done now!) I will get Mark to put it up on his site.

I'm sorry so sorry will never do it again. Someone just take the hangover away!
I have left my tobacco at home… what the hell am I to do? Cant afford to get any from the shop.. cant cycle home to get it (It nearly killed me just cycling here). Need nicotine. Someone will spot (Does anyone else use that word {in that context you fucking comedian}) u a fag Pete, fear not.

Work work, must rem. That I come here to work!

back at work again, just thought that I would let u in, on the horrible experiace I had the misfortune of waking up to today. Chunder (You know… chunks, vomit, sick). I have come to the conclusion that by body doesn't like me staying at work for 32hours, leaving work and going straight for a bike ride (miles n miles), going up town getting a little bit tipsy on Theakstones old peculiar then going to the pub quiz with Mark and Ammy (We had our asses kicked, well I say our but what I mean to say is they got their asses kicked. Im normaly not much in the old pubbious quizicus enless there is a obscure gomvemental statistics or bazzar music round, so I don't count myself)going home and eating the 2 remaining foodstuffs I own in the house Safeways Value fishfingers and Campbell's Chicken soup (For such an odd mix it didn't taste to bad as I ramed it down me neck). As the song sez 'In its own little way my body was trying to say, you'd better stop drinking brandy' Nah fuck off, must have been the fish fingers I'm fine!

I am Kloot - Natural History
Ah and now onto the main event… My new bestest band in the whole wide world! I know that it is an old album but I have only just discovered it. If you like 'sing along' stuff then you will love it. Its one of those leavesd you all smileing and reassured that every thing is going to be ok in your world. His voice has sort of a high Swade sorta quality about it at times and the whole thing flows like the finest single malt. Its fun… might have to come back to you on this one because I don't believe that im doing it justice here. Big Wheels has a quaint Bob Dylon feel to it in parts

Fav Track Twist, this has a nice 'old jazz' feel to it

Least Fav Track… Dark Star I get the feeling that it doesn't quite fit… Don tknow why just hmmmm…

The Hives - Your New Faviorite Band
On the whole not a bad blast of punk… a bit to simul;ar to their last for my tastes. Not one to bye yourself, would be ok if u received it as a present.
Fav. Track… well the first one ofcause, it has promosis of being a rebellious anthum.

Least Fav Track … Supply & Demand. To repetitive by far and by the end of it your wishing you hadn't cleaned your ears the other month.

Turin Brakes - Late Night Tales
I love it but I get the feeling that most of you will not understand it and as u normaly do, you will just shrug it off after labelling it as protentious crap. Yet for the bernifit of the Ed. I will proform a revev much deeper than I normaly do, so deep lets call it an autopsy. Due to the fact that Ed loved their last one im actually putting effort into it:

How to discribe this one? Hmmm… ok lets try, this. It's a Playschool bus ride through the slightly alternitive music land with a rest stop at blues and jazz land. All the abasodores from the various musical kingdoms have been polished up bright like buttons and slightly adapted to ensure that their appeal encaptures a broader audience.

1. Last Night I Dreamed of Missippi - Hungover Blues.. To long
2. Midnight Cowboy - Does exactly what it sez on the tin. This so should be in a western. Sorta the lone hero rides off into the sunset after saving the small town and not settleing down with the girl because he knows the pull of the trail is to strong. So he is ever destined to be alone till he feels that he has paid the debt for that deep dark secret that taunts him
3. Send in the Clowns - Errr Brit popish
4. Lagos System - African Funk Sound slowly developing into American Jazz
5. A Walk in the Night - Jazz Club feel rapidly metermophosing to 70's Single Bar feel
6. Blues Music - Blues Jazzie music thing… as if the music was written by the Eels around the time of 'Daisies of the Galaxy' and the lyrics were sung by beck on a bad day.
7. Dreamy Eyed Girl - Deep South Blues… Cool. Through listening you find is soft underbelly.
8. Breaking Your Fall - For some reason reminiscent of Gomez
9. Speed Trials - Dreamy piano music. Its feels as though its going places, only to drop you off at the next stop to the one u started from.
10. Magnolia - Husky in a reminiscent way
11. I Believe in You - The kind of thing you would expect from the likes of Phil Collins of similar love song old school rockers if they found themselves on hard times (Obviously through hard drugs alcoholism and to many women with negotiable morals) and they wanted to cash in on their name.
12. Short Tales of the Black Forrest - Singles Bar pop guatair jazz
13. Cold Blooded Old Times - I think that this one has got its roots in the 60/70's with a niggling scent of rebellious folk.
14. One and Only - Its fucking Contrie and Western… Sounds like Dolly fucking only What more to say… Fucking disipointed
15. A pearl for Lona -

Babybird - Best Of
On the whole a bit disapointing as it can be a bit sameie but nice to c it is dark at times. Perverse Pop. He wants to be loved and happy.

Music news J

So here we all sit patiently waiting for the new Devine Comedy album which is due for general reliece on the 26th of March (I think) I hopeing that I will be able to get my grubby hands on a copy before it comes out. I get the feel that this one will be a return to Neil's darker side but hopefully that will have a bit of his open sarcasm in tow.

Ones to look out for:
Kanye West - The college Dropout
Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters

Well I think that this has gone on for long enough… So I shall leave you with an update on my ever changing life. Got the house with Elaine, in the middle of decorating it, spent nights babysitting Sam (Elaine's daughter) and her friend whilst Elaine goes out and lives it up on that tiles in Leamington (I will see if I can coax out a club review from her). Apart from a broken computer, my life is complete (that doesn't sound right, I have got a broken computer… I don't want one). I have been decorating… sanding walls building furniture and putting up worktops etc. In short I'm happy, so very happy.

Have fun ppl.
Love Pete
XpX
