Welcome to the
'PeterFiles'

The Peterfiles have been written by pete and matt over the last couple of years (take a look into the past) and we're going to continue this tradition on tummyfluff. Why?.. Coz it's funny (well it makes me laugh). So without further ado i present the peterfiles next generation (TPNG):--

Peterfiles - a Divine issue (by Matty June 03)

Picture this, I'm in a room, a blue room, painted by my very own hands, listening to a band without a brand, they'll never sell you out like the others do.

Tonight I'm still recovering from last night, was a strange one that started out slowly but turned out all right. I made my first pint last about an hour and a half when father dearest suggested I try vodka. We approach the bar where we are told that a double vodka is only a fantastic 15p extra; well it had to be done now didn't it! The mixer by the way was bitter lemon, I was feeling out of sorts and everyone knows that it contains that magical ingredient that cures any tummy probs...anyway I drift.

So we go to the next pub and I order a double vodka and bitter lemon (well that's what I've moved onto now!) and now I'm told that unbelievably it's cheaper to get a triple vodka and mixer than it is just to have a double!
Now I apologise if my recollections get a little hazy at this point, but as soon as I remember the details I'll let you know!

I know exactly what you're thinking now - 'how on earth are three vodkas cheaper than two, but luckily for you I asked about this before I started drinking again...you see a double vodka would have been Smirnoff, but a triple vodka would have been house vodka and so it was cheaper - tada! Looking back on the night I wonder why it didn't occur to me just to get a double on the house vodka, but as these things generally do the idea completely eluded me!
So, here I am, your delightful host, feeling slightly worse for wear but good none the less, read on...

ALBUM: Casanova
BAND: The Divine Comedy
REVIEW: A peaceful album that settles the mind, puts you at ease and somehow oozes into your soul to make you ponder life. It's a beautiful album with some classic tunes, including my favourite 'The Frog Princess'.

So here I am now - drinking tea from my Harry Potter mug, wondering where I should go with this next...normally I'd just play it by the moment and follow my whimsical mind into madness, but surely there has to be some sort of plan, some rules perhaps, but then I think why the hell should there be!

ANIMAL: Koala Bear
REVIEW: The Koala Bear (Koaley) is the animal that you want to take home! NOT LIKE THAT!!! Come on people have some decency. They're cute, fluffy and cuddly. Steve Irwin would say the female Koaley bears are all 'beautiful Sheilas' and the guys have a 'good strong grip' and 'cheeky lil bums'...haha...has this guy got issues??? ADOPT a Koaley bear today...you won't regret it....aaaaw they're just sooooo cute!

"Maybe I'll suffer just to be her lover, just to be part of her world" - The Divine Comedy

And now we're back to normality...did I happen to mention that it's my birthday on the 27th of June??? Yes this writer will be entering into manhood and hitting the big 21!!! Yes you heard it right...21!!! I'll be down in Coventry for the weekend so anyone that reads this is invited for a night of madness, well you'll have to check with me first obviously - but then sure come down and party!

"Bored of normality? Why not go daft? It's easy to do if you try, slide right back down that self-confident path you've just so laboriously climbed. Pickle your liver and addle your brain, live the Bohemian life. Die young and penniless somewhere in Spain. Then again you could try just to live your own life in the way that you find most amusing. I DON'T REALLY CARE." - The Divine Comedy

What do you think of that hey? Genius!

So where's Mr Kane in all of this I hear you ask...well not here for sure as I'm in good old Sheffield at the minute...No doubt he's in the deep recesses of Coventry conjuring his own demonic words to the tablet of truth for the cause! Who knows...will you answer the call comrade and take arms against the dark? We shall be the light that dost fend off the shadows of normality...waddya say?

Well it's that time of day again where the issue must end and I must sleep - but remember me when you dream of the future!

Brought to you by your freindly neighbourhood Spider Matt

Love you all...ciao! x

Episode 2 by Matty (July 03)

The voices of all our yesterdays

I've realised more and more how much I loved writing as a child and have realised that maybe it is not my purpose here at Peterfiles HQ to inflict upon you my usual random mess and jumble of thoughts…..perhaps my aim should be to order these thoughts, feelings and experiences that I have - try to explore them in more detail and have a point to what I'm saying. Sure there will always be a randomness to my writings here at Peterfiles…..a quick twist in the plot to send you off course and careering into a different state of mind, but that's good……isn't it?

A lot of my life seems to change daily, as I'm sure yours does too, I don't like the stability of normality…..perhaps I prefer a state of mind verging on madness, maybe I just like to keep the edge of my life sharp….it's only rock and roll, but I love it!

There is of course routine to my life, but there's always a way out, some place to escape and go mad…..I find it's easier to do this now that I have my own little palace, all alone for the time being up in the North. Now -"if I may digress for a moment (and if you don't want me to digress, then you may find that you are reading the wrong column)" Douglas Adams; The salmon of doubt - you may have noticed that I put a capital N in subconsciously for the North - look there I go again - and there is I feel some reasoning behind this. If my time in the North has taught me anything then it has taught me that whilst in 'The North' I am in fact at the centre of the universe. At first I could not understand how this could possibly be, but it has since been beaten into me. I think it must be the air up here or something that makes life so different, puts a bit of Northern soul into your life, it definitely does something to your accent anyhow!

Anyway back to the original point, although I'm sure we'll revisit the North later. Where was I……oh that was it, place to escape to. It helps you know, to have somewhere to go; somewhere of your own where you can do what you want, but the best thing is having your mates round.

The weekend was different and so of course it was great. Friday night I went straight from work down to London with Matt Clarry to meet a couple of French girls that we had met snowboarding in France earlier in the year. They were to be brought back to mine where they would stay until Tuesday. London was fantastic, but expensive - went into one pub and was paying £1.50 for a game of pool…..how dare they? But hey it was the first time I'd had a drink in London.…I guess I even got a little nostalgic maybe, I'm not sure if that's the right word to describe it…..it felt good anyhow!

Came back to mine that very same night, had a bit of a bit of a drink and went to bed. Saturday a few of the lads came round and we had a day of drinking and shmokin' - in fact that was a lot of the weekend, it was just great to spend an entire weekend chilling out with mates! Went to the Leadmill and boogied all night. By Sunday I'd pulled Marie - one of the pretty French girls - and the weekend just got better, just like to point out that Marie is very nice….pretty…..clever…..mmmmmm!

Anyway that was basically my weekend…oh other than Monday when we went to the pub we met a Scottish guy in a kilt who bought us a couple of bottles of wine….and two lads from a local band…oh and a random guy…can't remember where he was from…spoke plenty of languages though.

And there you have it…bit different…was a great laugh…but now I find myself alone in my room, a bit of peace and quiet never hurt anybody I know and it gives me a chance to write…so for tonight I'll settle for it! A week Saturday though is Brighton Beach at Sheffield City Hall and that's a completely different story…….
