Day 2
Dear diary,
Yesterday I saw a cat, it was black like the night and I had trouble seeing it until it ran into the middle of the road. It was a little traumatic as you can imagine seeing that cat disappear beneath the wheels of the lorry that was coming down the street. It made me think though!
I thought about what might have been going through the cats mind seconds before the lorry struck it. The cat, named Terrence as I later found out, had probably had a pretty normal day. Woke up. Ate. Slept a little, before settling down to some serious kip. Then wondered around looking for a fight, a mate or even a little more food. A few fences climbed, a sneak attack on an unsuspecting moth and then .SPLAT .just another skid mark on the road. What a way to go!
I wonder that maybe if the owners had taught Terrence to cross the road properly, i.e. to look BOTH WAYS and listen before taking that first step into the unknown, then maybe little Terrence would be alive and well today. Poor Terrence.
I wonder if there's a place where cats go after they have passed on from this world, I mean after the pet cemetery or the dump whatever. I wonder if right now Terrence is in another place, a better place chasing moths to his hearts content, living the life .I'll just never know I guess.
It's a strange old thing, life, isn't it when you think about it. Not that we do unless under the influence of some sort of drug, be it alcohol, cannabis or well whatever. But I guess that's just on my mind at the minute, diary, and I just thought I'd let you know .anyway, I'm going to bed now so I'll update you tomorrow!
